Explore the art of crack climbing
Crack climbing at first sight may seem like the most unlikely way of climbing, like some kind of super hero activity only for the strongest - but that’s wrong! Climbing cracks is actually much easier than it looks and not nearly as strenous for the joints as other types of climbing! In fact, its probably one of the climbing forms you can keep on doing also at high age, as it is more about using good body technique than pure finger strenght!
Have you heard about Yosemite, Utah, Indian Creek, the Black Canyon, Red Rocks….the beautiful granite spires in the Alps, in Norway and on Greenland? What they all have in common are the long beautiful cracks that lead the way up these stunning rock walls.
Climbing cracks is an amazing way to move up a rock wall. Learning to use techniques such as hand jamming is a game changer for any climber. Suddenly you can find a restful position on a vertical wall with the possibility to place protection almost everywhere. Crack climbing has to be experienced for anyone who is curious to develop in the mountains.
We love climbing on the beautiful granite spires and on the sandstone walls around the world. In our home area around Chamonix we have some amazing crack climbing to discover, but in ther U.S there is even more unique places that offers some of the most beautiful climbing in the world.
Join for a climbing experience where you evolve in the safe hands of an IFMGA mountain guide, learn these fun body techniques and multipitch safety work so that you can keep on climbing no matter age. And maybe even scale mountain walls such as the mighty El Capitain in Yosemite or enjoying other legendary climbing spots that has inspired Cinema movies through the years.
Let’s go climbing and explore all these legendary areas.
No matter your level to start of with, there is something amazing to discover in the world of crack climbing! Why not start by a week of introduction or to refine the crack climbing skills.
